Couldn't the same be said about DOS? And didn't it become a successanyway? In the beginning it wasn't for the masses - but now lots of
people are running Win95 - which is nothing but an application on top of DOS. Oh, you didn't know? Try eg. writing 'mode co80' when you have shutdown your Win95 to see the good old DOS screen :-)
