Yes this is possible and it is also recommended when you are using Multimaster Replication in a fail-over senario (and you want to use synchronous rep.) This way, Site B does not depend on Site A to be "alive" to commit rows to its database.

Just remember you better have a damn good network for synchronous replication from Site A. Also if Site B goes down, Site A get locked up...
