Trouble Installing PO7.3 Under W95

I incorrectly uninstalled Reports 3.0 on my server running W95, by wiping out all the files under the Oracle directory and not going through a correct uninstall process. I'm now trying to install PO7 with its Sample database, but I keep getting GPFs during the install, and therefore cannot install a new version of the server. I went into the Registry via regedit, did a search on "ORA" and deleted all previous references to the old install. Still, when I use a text editor and examine the system.dat file, I still see references to the old install.

So, I'm hosed. Short of wiping out W95 and reinstalling it, which would be a major hassle for me since I don't have the W95 disks with me, what can I do to wipe out all remnants of the old install and get back into business?
