One other point worth mentioning is that even on 'large' jfs's (or raw
partitions, for that matter) is that you may run into problems with the
Oracle toolset - imp, exp, sqlldr will not handle files larger than 2G, even
if your filesystem, LVM and Oracle datafiles can handle that.
Look at your Oracle install guide for platform specific information, and check with Oracle Tech. Sup. for the latest version status. Also look at using 'compressed pipes' to overcome some of the imp/exp problems.
