Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Tracing Oracle Connections
I am working on a project where we are implementing Microsoft's
Transaction Server using connection pooling from a webserver to a
database server (Oracle 7.3.3.5 on NT 4). We are using Microsoft's
ODBC driver for Orcle and SQL*NET with TCP/IP.
I am trying to figure out how to determine if the connection pooling is indeed working. I do not have access to the Performance Pack (Oracle Trace utility) so I've been looking at the .TRC files that are created by setting the trace parameters in the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files. I'm not sure how to interpret these trace files. There does not seem to be any timestamps in them or anything that identifies sessions.
Does anyone have any pointers to white papers, manuals, books, etc that gives a GREAT description of these files? Or any suggestions on how I can determine the database connections. I am basing my research on the fact that a login to the database is differenct from a SQL*NET connection. I also have auditing enabled.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
