Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Re: Backups with Oracle 7.3 and Windows NT 4.0 ?
I am currently working this same issue for our sites. I am using OEM to
schedule my backup scripts so I can run Online backups every night, and
offline backups once a week.
OEM is buggy, quirky, and pretty unreliable. Takes a lot of hoops to get it working correctly. They are working on it, and it does seem to be getting better.
If I could do it another way, I would use the NT Resource Kit (MSDN, see the microsoft web site), and use the tool that creates a service on behalf of a script. Scheduling your scripts like that, you can avoid OEM all together.
Just my opinion, jon.
