My interpretation, based on what I have seen in NT and other platforms is that
the server is out of memory. There may be some housekeeping that the os needs
to do or major memory leak.
Try re-booting the system and see if you can connect. You did not say how long your system had been up, but I know some that say NT needs to be shutdown and restarted weekly, some others even more often.
