DBA_FREE_SPACE shows you every single free block in the tablespaces. with DBA_EXTENTS you can see how your segments (Tables, indexes) are spread over the tablespaces in smaller or larger portions. DBA_SEGMENTS only shows you the sum of bytes of all extents that belong to the segment.
