If you have wordpad, make wordwrap off and open the file. You can use some other text editors also. I used Mega Write for a small dump file and word pad for larger ones.

Take care that you don't change the data which alters the size of the dump file.

Yes, you can but Oracle will recognize it only if the size of the modified dump file is the same of the original one. I've done it and works, sure.
