I'm not sure what you mean.
SAP R/3 uses Oracle, Informix, ... as its RDBMS. There are over 8,000 tables and 11,000 indexes in the RDBMS.
In our SAP R/3 systems, we do not allow direct access to the Oracle databases -- we require all access to be via the R/3 application.
