Yes, you can.
Just make sure when you copy (ftp?) the file across from the UNIX server you do it in 'binary' mode. Then use the Oracle 8 import: It'll show a warning that the objects were exported from a different version of Oracle, but it'll still import OK.
Check the Oracle Manuals for more info. on database upgrades and migrations.
