Using async I/O on various Oracle platforms, for example IBM RS/6000,
requires a proper Unix kernel configuration, (support for async I/O
turned on), as well as installing async I/O support with orainst
(involves re-linking Oracle kernel) and configuring it (INIT.ORA).
