To answer your question, operating-system authentication should and
does work with ODBC. I have not tried this with the Intersolv driver,
but have used this successfully with the ODBC drivers for Oracle7 7.3,
Oracle8 8.03, and Oracle8 8.04.
If I were you, to determine if this is a problem with the Intersolv driver, try this with the Oracle-developed ODBC driver. You can get a free ODBC driver from Oracle by going to the Web site:
Follow the link at the top to "Free Download", then to the link "Free Software". This will take you to the main page for all free downloads that Oracle has to offer.
You will download a self-extracting archive. Run this, extracting the files to a directory on your machine, then follow the installation instructions contained in the README.TXT file.
