Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> problem with port 80 for Oracle Web Server3.0
Hi All,
Im using Oracle Web Server3.0 on Solaris 2.5.1.
Im using 8888 port for administration of Web Server.
And I want to use an other listener which listens port 80 (default
port).
After I create the listener (for port 80), and start it an error is
promted:
OWS-05721: The Web Listener www failed to start:
Oracle Web Listener 3.0 Production (Export), Version 2.13 Copyright 1997 Oracle Corp. All Rights Reserved.
Error: A failure occurred ( Permission denied ) when assigning a port ( domain: x.y.z, address: 0.0.0.0, port: 80
).
Error: Failed to start the server.
Error: The server could not initialize
Information: The server is exiting
OWS-08811: Unable to startup Oracle Web Listener `www'.
Do I have to run this listener as x.y.z's superuser (root).
Thanks... Received on Fri Apr 17 1998 - 00:00:00 CDT
