The ODBC version 3.x administrator will return this error if using a
driver that reports itself as being Level 1 compliant. All of the
version 1.x drivers provided by oracle do. Download the latest
version, (2.5.3.1.0 is the full install), and the latest patche,
(2.5.3.1.4) and you will be fine.
