Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help us...We have a deadlock problem on our server system. One table is being locked and not released, but we can't find out why.
A little about our system:

	2 levels (L2 & L3) for server & client
several server processes & clients use this table for selects, updates,
deletes, etc.
the L2 system will 'reach over' to the L3 database for data from this
table & vice versa
the table resides on both Levels (L2 has 30 day retention, L3
has 90 day)
data is passed from L2 up to L3 and from L3 down to L2
            problem is very sporadic

We have used Enterprise Manager to identify locks & kill sessions when the deadlock occurs, but the only thing that seems to clear it up completely is full reboot of both L3 & L2 systems (Could be just shutting down Oracle that fixes it.?.?). Received on Thu Apr 09 1998 - 11:42:06 CDT
