Hi,
I have a question on the backup and recovery. I don't understand one of the recovery strategies which is 'recover database using backup control file'. From the book, it tells that this is because there is a physical structure change of the database later. Does someone know the answers on the following questions:

If I use strategy of using backup control file to recover database
(1) Do I still need to restore the old datafiles from backup instead of
current datafiles? Must the restored datafiles be older than the backup controlfile?
(2) If I use the current datafiles, restore the backup control files from
backup, and have all archived redo logs available. Is it possible for Oracle to roll back to the point which the backup control file is.

I need answers for these questions very much. I am constructing a backup and recovery plan now.

Thanks in advance!
Ling Lei
