Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Cannot start oracle listener 8
I install Oracle8 enterprise edition on a standalone PC running Nt4 workstation named 'francis'(I skip creating the default database ORCL). After installation, I try to test the environment by starting the listener. However, this is the error I got:
Connecting to <ADDRESS=<PROTOCOL=TCP><HOST=francis><Port=1521>
TNS-12224: TNS:no listener
TNS-15241: TNS:no listener
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error TNS:00511: No listener 32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown system errorConnecting to <ADDRESS=<PROTOCOL=TCP><HOST=francis><Port=1526> TNS-12224: TNS:no listener
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error TNS:00511: No listener 32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown system errorConnecting to <ADDRESS=<PROTOCOL=TCP><HOST=127.0.0.1><Port=1521> TNS-12224: TNS:no listener
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error TNS:00511: No listener 32-bit Windows Error: 61: Unknown system error
I try to run the command ping 127.0.0.1 and it looks ok. I also check that the Oracle TCP/IP Protocol Adapter is also installed. Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?
Thanks. Received on Sat Feb 28 1998 - 00:00:00 CST
