If you want to store the network definition in a database, you'll have to install a 16 bit SQLNET client on the machine you're running network manager on. If you are storing it in a file, you don't really need SQLNET connectivity from Network Manager to anything, you can just use it to maintain the definition and generate all the files.

Beware of large network definitions. I was maintaining a definition for a large enterprise. When we got up around 100 servers, it started corrupting files and crashing. Oracle sent me a patch in response to a TAR. Received on Mon Feb 09 1998 - 00:00:00 CST
