Webserver 3 + Java Cartridge + username/password

I can't seem to find any documentation on the following.

Is there a way, using the Java Cartridge along with Basic Oracle authentication of virtual paths, to obtain the username and password?

Or does one have to do one's own little form to obtain a username and password, and cache it in the application?

We know that we could put a generic user name and password as a system property into the java cartdridge. But in that case, the username and password sit around in clear text in some system configuration file somewhere, which is not desirable.

Any other ways around? Received on Wed Feb 04 1998 - 00:00:00 CST
