Database Shutdown hangs

Hi everybody,
I have been using Oracle on Nt only for three months and I'm experiencing a lot of troubles with Oracle Intelligent Agent. I'm running an Oracle 7.3.2.3.1 Server on an NT 4.0 and, on the same machine, I'm running Oracle 7.3.3.0.0 Intelligent Agent. Using a remote OEM console (1.3.5) and scheduling a shutdown job on the server, the job gets into the running state but hangs up without completion. I'm quite sure that the OEM and the server are configured in the proper way, since I can perform many kind of other tasks, database startup included. I tried also to submit a "Run DBA script" job, using the following script:

   connect internal/<pwd>@<db_alias>;
   shutdown immediate;
   exit;
but I got the same situation.
Did anyone experience the same problem ? Could anyone give me a suggestion to investigate and solve the problem ?

Many thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Best Regards
Riccardo Cecapolli
