Case sensitivity

We are loading customer supplied values into a cross reference table. The developers and customers will then query this table. Is there any way to make the column case INSENSITIVE. By that I mean we wouldn't have to worry about the exact case sensitive character string, just match on the values (i.e. 'Country' equals 'country').
