show errors shows nothing

i just created a trigger with compilation errors:

  Warning: Trigger created with compilation errors.

so, like always, i did a 'show errors' to see what I screwed up. but, 'show errors' yields 'No errors'!!

is there another way that i can look at the errors and/or fix this?

I'm using Oracle 7.3.3.0.0, SQL*Plus 3.3.3.0.0, PL/SQL 2.3.3.0.0. thanks,
