This can be done working directly on the config files, but I would definitely recommend using the web pages. From the Listener Administration Page, go to the Configure link for the listener you want to protect; I assume you have already mapped the virtual directories under the 'Directory Mappings' section, so go to Security: Access Control and Encryption under Oracle Web Listener Configuration Parameters (it's a little ways down the page). The link actually takes you to another page. From there, just add users, add them to groups, and add those groups to realms. You can also add IP based security, configure SSL, etc. Then just map protection info to virtual directory info under the Protection section. If you are using the web request broker, you need to repeat the mapping process for WRB (another link off the Configuration Parameters menu). Depending on rescan settings, you'll probably have to restart the listener for changes to take effect.
