Hi,

don't use it this way as naked as it is shipped. They offer an db-agent, which will take tablespaces offline etc. but I don't know wether it does fine work. If you don't need your db running during the hole night and it isn't very large (let's say samller than 4GB) why don't you shut down. This is the most efficent and secure way, which is also recommended by oracle if possible.
