Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Listener Hangs - Help!!!
We are accessing an Oracle 7.3 database on a SCO Unix Open Server 5
Server using SQLnet on Windows NT 4.0 clients. Our client application
is
a data entry system written in C++. When we have one or two people
using
the system lightly, everything works well for weeks at a time.
However,
when we get up to about 6 data entry temps, our Listener hangs every
hour
or less. We cannot even check its status. We've tried the few
suggestions that Oracle had:
- Start the listener using nohup
Nothing seems to work. We tried a test application written in Visual
Basic which performed selects and updates, just as our data entry
application does. That application seem to be relatively stable.
We're
wondering if it could be anything that we are doing in our client
application, or if the problem is on the server. If anyone can offer
advice, even on different tests we can try to get more insight into
where
our problem could be, I'd be eternally greatful.
