Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Oracle 7.3 and SQL*Forms 3.0
Oracle states that Forms 3.0 will not work against a 7.3 database. We need to upgrade to 7.3 so we can upgrade our O/S to meet Year/2000 issues. I currently have 7.2 and 7.3 running on the same machine, with our production apps in the 7.2 instance. If I use the SQL*Net connector string for the 7.3 database when I log into Forms 3.0, it seems to connect to the 7.3 database and work fine. This leads me to think I could migrate our production database to 7.3, and use the 7.2-installed Forms 3.0 to access the database using SQL*Net (v2). Has anyone actually done this? Is this reliable enough for a production database? Any suggestions, experiences, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I know others have fought this already. Thanks!

ps - Yeah, we're upgrading to Forms 4.5 but we can't wait that long for 7.3...
