If you have Designer 2000 (worth getting in its own right) there is a reverse engineering tool which will reverse engineer rpt modules. These modules can then be generated as Reports2.5 modules. I wouldn't like to guarantee what the R2.5 report would look like as I have not used it myself but I have seen some fairly impressive results on the forms side though..
If you haven't got Designer yet , the best thing to do is to ask your Oracle sales rep for a demo of the reverse engineering capabilities (suggest the demo is done using one of your existing reports), thatway you'll be able to see for yourself.
