Poor performance in Report 2.5 (called by Runproduct Forms 4.5)

Dear dba's and programmers,

in our applications, reports are too slow when called by Forms through RUNPRODUCT. These reports are very simple, but the user may wait a lot of seconds before the Report Client/Server activity diagram appears. This is true not only the first time (50 sec. of busy waiting), but even the following ones (20 sec.). If we specify BATCH, the user may run another report, but the present goes out with the same speed. We cannot accept these values, as an application is for real time public certification.

Since report starts another session I think there is only a delate in the oracle connection, as Report is not slow if we call it without Forms. Alternatively Report Server might be too slow, even if we do not know how to bypass it.

There is no tracing activity, our clients are quite powerful (Pentium 100, RAM 16 Mb), our servers do have good performance.

Have you any idea about what is happening ?
