Question on Shutdown Immediate

I would appreciate any help on this question --

If you do a SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE on an instance, I know any uncommited transactions get rolled back. Now when the instance is brought back up, does the uncommited transactions get rolled forward, or do you have to do an instance recovery to have that done?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Yoon
