Michael,

Use the the export/import of oracle. I have successfully export a database from an 7.3+ Oracle Server running on NT to a 7.1 oracle server running on HPUX

What I did was:

  1. Exported the user using datamanager that contained all the data from NT7.3 (system)
  2. then ported the dmp file to the HP machine running 7.1+ and imported the user in using the imp oracle import command.
