Needed: War stories on using Oracle7 two-phase commit

I am beginning some new software development that is going to rely on Oracle7's tranparent, distributed database two-phase commit.

Any comments from the trenches, good or bad. On the surface, it looks much easier than other RDBMS's approaches to two-phase commit.
