Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Re: What's Prespawned Shadows in SQL*Net V2?
Instead of an Oracle shadow process being spawned to support a user session upon a connect request which is the normal method, sql*net starts a shadow process that waits for a connect request theyby reducing the time necessary to get a connection. It was available with sql*net version 2.2, but I have been told it does not really work correctly until release 2.3. (I am not sure of the sql*net release number but basically you want the very most recent 2.* release)
