[Q] libraries missing after installation

Hello Oracle gurus!
I just installed the trial version of Oracle Workgroup Server 7.3.2 for Solaris 2.5. When I now try to run the script

  $ORACLE_HOME/bin/genclntsh

I get linking errors. After searching the whole directory tree, I could find most of the missing libraries (they used to be in $ORACLE_HOME/lib in v7.1.6, but are now spread around), except these.

  libclient.a
  libcommon.a
  libgeneric.a
  libncr.a
  libepc.a

Since the installation succeeded without any error message, I must be missing something fundamental. Where are these libraries, or why did the installation fail to generate them?

Background information: We need libclntsh.a to run a Smalltalk interface to Oracle (a framework that lets you access Oracle from within Smalltalk). Since we only have an evaluation license of this product, we urgently need to get this library. A FAQ pointed me to the script that will generate libclntsh.so.1.0, however, this script fails. I have read all the FAQs that I could find, on Oracle's server as well as third-party Web sites, to no avail.

Any pointer is appreciated.
