Hello,

We’re experiencing intermittent problems with LGWR hanging during a shutdown of the database and we’re unable to “kill” the process. Running both 7.2 .2 and 7.3.2 on hpux 10.2 and EMC RAID we sometimes shutdown abort (another story) and the LGWR process hangs (other background processes go away nicely) and can NOT be killed by oracle or root. A reboot of the machine is the only way we’ve been able to deal with it so far.

I have never had this kind of problem with Oracle before and am wondering if anyone out there has seen this behavior.

Thank you (in advance)
