Bequeath for local 16/32 bit connection on NT

Hi,
with ORACLE RDBMS 7.3, SQL*Net 2.3 on NT 3.51 I don't need a listener for a local database connection if I use the Bequeath protocol. This works fine for 32-bit tools.
With 16 bit applications I had a lot of troubles. I'm using a TCP/IP connection to localhost(127.0.0.1) now and with changing the tasking parameter it's working, but not very fast. Is there a better way for the local 16/32 database connection? Can I tune NT networking for local ORACLE connection?

TIA
