My experience with Oracle has been that the installation sucks the big hairy root. I've averaged 6-12 calls to tech support for every attempt made at installing. Usually, I don't cause a bug report because it's already on file. whoopee.

Also, their documentation sucks.

If you are thinking of going to Oracle without getting tech support, don't. Their tech support seems to be pretty good, probably due to constant exercise.

On the other hand, Once you have Oracle up and running, it's pretty stable, and has good recovery capabilities. Received on Thu May 08 1997 - 00:00:00 CDT
