Names Server: 'what's it good for?... absolutely nothing...'

I can get a names server to work with a 'minimal' network definition, ie. 6 domains, 5 nodes, 17 instances, 12 listeners, etc...

Has anyone gotten Names Server to work with a reasonably complicated network? ie. hierarchical structure with >50 nodes, >50 instances,
>30 domains, etc... or am i just wasting my time on an unstable product.

The names server re-writes it's checkpoint files everytime it is started, but it appears to write them incorrectly after a certain point of complexity is reached in the network definition.

Anybody got any pointers?
