This will work. I have seen it working in a production environment. You have to install forms30 as a client with SQL*NET V2 and then create establish a TWO_TASK connection to the 7.3 instance. If the 7.3 is upgraded from 7.2 or older and you already created the db objects for forms30 you are done. If not, then you run the installer that you installed the forms30 with and create db objects into the 7.3 instance via TWO_TASK.

Depending on the port you are talking about I know of a few problems. SUN Solaris has a problem with oiconnect from 7.1.6 and 7.2.x. If you are on this port and need to do this kind of install I think you can copy the oiconnect from the 7.3 instance to the forms30 ORACLE_HOME. If this does not work I know Oracle Support has a patch that includes an oiconnect that has the sql*net V2 drivers compiled into it. Received on Fri Dec 20 1996 - 00:00:00 CST
