I'd say 50-60 tables is about where I would consider a tool,
even one as heavy as Oracle Designer.
It does require some installation (which will take at least
a day!) but it will deliver the required technical implementation
schema in less that 30 minutes.
Now you make the considerations, time wise, whether that would be an option.
