But equally important is that every DBA, developer, and system admin. needs to understand this and build it into every system that requires compliance. And that means just about every system that has numeric data (excluding research data in most cases). The lack of understanding of which systems are required to be in compliance is near universal. In the US, most Excel spreadsheets, are prima facia violations of the law when the organization is required to be SarbOx compliant.
