If it were bicycling distance from my house and included major benefits, and things were like they were a couple of years ago when I was willing to take a 50% cut, I might just consider such a job. It could kinda be like being retired, and I could be with my kids more. Certainly better than the jobs where I've had to get _up_ at 3:00AM and work till 5:00PM, I can't go to sleep early enough. But I could sleep all day, get up and swim a few laps, pick up the kids... Not every DBA job is architecting RAC servers for Amazon, nor should they be.

Funny how I didn't have to take a pay cut, though.
