We would like to uninstall oracle client 8.0.5.0 and install oracle 9.2.. client on about 3000 machines.

Since I couldn't find any good info about doing a silent(automated) uninstall of 8..

we decided to do the following:

delete c:\orant directory.

delete HKLM-Software-Oracle
delete HKLM-System-currentcontrolset-services-oracleclientcache80
delete HKLM-System-currentcontrolset001-services-oracleclientcache80

Would doing this cause any problems in the future?

We will be installing oracle 9.2 - silent install using a response file.
