oracle on redhat 7

I tried many times to install oracle 8.1.1.6 and 8.1.1.7 on redhat 7. My advice is don't try, it won't work. I read many times that RH7 was not supporting Oracle, it looks like to be true.

So what I did is install a new server with RH 6.2 and in this case it worked perfectly.

I also kept my RH 7 server, because all my applications were working on it, and I installed on it juste the client Net8. This is working and I can connect my RH 7 serveur to my RH 6.2 serveur running the database.

I hope It will help somedays...
