I know from experience that after starting one copy of Excel you have just blown away 64 Mb of RAM.
Case closed, or you should come up with more specifics on your system (97 Mb is a heck if you have only 128M [which is definitely not recommended for Oracle]) and/or your init.ora.
Also 8i has a default java pool of 20M, if you don't use jave just decrease (or set) java_pool_size in init.ora
and you should be getting somewhere.
Please try to avoid the 'it doesn't work' type of question. I don't have a crystal bulb and I guess many other people in this group neither.
