is there a web site around for the uninformed and ignorant??

I need to familiarize myself with the product and I am relativly new to Solaris and totaly new to Oracle (I have been in the MSSQL world for a year or so).

I have a copy of 8.1.6 that I am trying to install but it will not let me connect to the management server. Is there some place that has an idiot proof install guide covering the OS pre-install steps through the Oracle install?? Yes I have read the documentation but I am still having difficulty.

Any help or reference material would be greatly appreciated!!
