Hi

I downloaded and installed Oracle 8i Personal Edition from oracle.com

I am completely new to oracle and sql. All I need is to use the sql command window, so that I can do my university assignments at home.

I do not need to setup a huge database over a network or anything.

I have set up a new database, but I keep getting the message 'No Listener' when I try to log on.

I have no idea what a listener is or how to set one up, or even if I need one for my situation.

If anyone could offer any tips, or point me in the direction of some web based instructions on this it would be much appreciated.

Cheers! Received on Mon Nov 20 2000 - 17:57:00 CST
