Hello Phillip,
this was really a great tip.
now i can import 75MB in about 2min.
I'm really glad about this.

But there a two more problems.
1) When I migrate to Oracle 8.1.6, the new SQL*Loader won't accept

DB3 as Parameter anymore, so which files do I have to install    in this environment for using the old SQL*Loader 7.3.4 ?
(Binaries, etc...)

Im am using Oracle under Windows NT

2) When I'm importing the old dbase-files, I think I have the

wrong character-set. The characters (ä,Ä,ö,Ö,ü,Ü, ...)    are not imported correctly
(selecting the data under dos-prompt will show me all data
correctly, but using windows-programs like sql-worksheet,     MS Access, ... shows me just "squares")    Do you know how to resolve this problem?

thanks for all,
Dirk Grabenhorst
