"Enterprise User" (I think) Authentication is Oracle's term for their support for LDAP based
authentication added in 8.1.6.

Supports Oracle Internet Directory and Microsoft Active Directory. Will support Novell
Directory Service in 8.1.7.

You create global schema/roles and connect LDAP authenticated users to these roles instead
of having a seperate schema for each user.

If you have access to MetaLink there is quite a few notes on the subject. Also take a look at
the Advanced Security Administrators Guide available at Technet.
