Hi Karsten,
If I am clear with your problem you are using a Forms Server configuration.
Forms has a built-in
web.show_document where you can get access to some URL you like. If this
URL points to a html page
with javascript, you can invoke a local software (MS Word, for example) or
some other thing you like.
